What Is the Most Interesting History of a Great Piece of Literature That Was Almost Lost but Managed

How about something even more spectacular, the near loss of literally hundreds of ancient, classical, and medieval manuscripts in one spectacular disaster. And, some astonishingly lucky saves. Read here: Cotton library - WikipediaAmerican Bookbinders MuseumBeowulf Manuscript:In the British Library there is a manuscript, its edges scorched and brittle, of Beowulf, one of the very earliest poems in English and its first great literary masterpiece. It exists only in this one vellum codex and has survived for a thousand years, telling of an even earlier time, when the heroic age still was remembered by a Christian audience. The origin of the manuscript is completely unknown, but it may have belonged to one of the monasteries dissolved by Henry VIII. It first is mentioned in 1563 (the owner, who was gathering manuscripts for a proposed dictionary, signed his name on the first page) and eventually came into the possession of the antiquarian Sir Robert Cotton. His library, which was augmented by his son and grandson after his death in 1631, was the richest collection of Anglo-Saxon literary and historical documents in existence. The manuscripts were bound in leather and placed in fourteen bookcases, each watched over by the bust of one of the twelve Caesars, with those of Cleopatra and Faustina presiding over the remaining two. The manuscript of Beowulf was known by the designation Vitellius A. xv: the fifteenth volume on the first shelf under the bust of Vitellius. In 1700, the Cottonian library was willed to the British nation and eventually moved to Ashburnham House at Westminster, which was thought to be a safer location. But, two years later, on October 23, 1731, there was a fire. The trustees broke into the burning building and carried away, or threw from the windows, hundreds of threatened volumes. Of the 958 manuscripts in the library, several hundred were severely damaged either by fire or water and thirteen completely destroyed, including a unique copy of The Battle of Maldon and Asser's Life of Alfred. Tightly bound between its leather covers, the Beowulf manuscript survived but was burnt along its exposed edges. (Interestingly, it was not cataloged at the time as being damaged. And two more unique saves from the fire:Pearl (poem) - WikipediaSir Gawain and the Green Knight - WikipediaCheers!

1. Where is the Indian Currency (Rupee) printing press in Madhya Pradesh?

It's in Dewas (Near Indore)Bank Note Press Dewas is a Unit of SPMCIL Limited

2. How controversial was Gutenberg's new printing press when word first got out?

I would have commented Ernest W. Adams answer, but he disable the comments, so here is a little add:Erasmo da Rotterdam express his own happiness (my professor of Church History read the passage to me, but now I cannot find it): the idea to own a Bible, to keep one always in your pocket (I do not know if there were already pocket editions. Maybe he was projecting) literally moved him to tears. We can compare our own experience to always have a book ready in our phone vs the old experience of renting, buying and searching it, with books out of print, long trips to distant libraries, etc.

3. In the age of the printing press and internet, is burning a Qur'an akin to downloading one and deleting it?

LOL, Burning the actual book will gain loads of attraction from the public rather than downloading and deleting, But I find it wrong, An Eye for an eye will make the whole world Blind, do not burn their Holy Books, Half of the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important.

4. What do you know about the printing Press?

School project? i would need more details. Budget? 4 color or spot color? size format? If you are printing under 500, i would stronly suggest finding your own methods or (ugh...) Kinkos. This also only works if your document (or each page) is under 12 by 18 (tabloid extra). If you have a lot of photographs, i would suggest a normal lazer printer (or photo inkjet). If they are limited color images and text, (solids of few varying colors) you may want to think about a professional printer, which will cost considerably more, but it will pay off with the more you print. I would consider this: A professional printer is good if you need 300 copies (two-sided print or one sided print) and are willing to pay about 200-500. Books or booklets are quite different, costing even more. If you need just one for a project, go to kinkos (yes, I know they suck).

Let's Talk About the Application of Thermal Conductive Silica Gel in LED Lighting Industry
Thermal conductive silica gel sheet is a widely used thermal conductive interface material. It is in the form of sheet, high pressure shrinkage, high reliability, high temperature resistance, excellent thermal conductivity and insulation, with viscosity on the surface, simple and convenient construction. It can be die-cut and punched according to the size and shape of heating devices.Heat conductive silica gel sheet is a kind of heat conductive medium material made by calendering with silica gel as the base material and adding various auxiliary materials such as metal oxides. It is usually called heat conductive gasket, heat conductive silica gel gasket, heat conductive silicon film, soft heat conductive gasket, heat conductive silica gel pad, etc. it is specially produced for the design scheme of using the gap to transfer heat and can fill the gap, It not only completes the heat transfer between the heating part and the heat dissipation part, but also plays the roles of insulation, shock absorption and sealing. It can meet the design requirements of miniaturization and ultra-thin equipment. It is a good heat conduction filling material with manufacturability and usability, and has a wide range of thickness and Application.Led thermal conductive silicon film is mainly used between aluminum substrate and heat sink, between aluminum substrate and shell, etc. Today, we mainly introduce the successful application of thermal conductive silica gel sheet in LED industry: there are many kinds of LED lamps. For indoor LED lamps, thermal conductive silica gel sheet with relatively low thermal conductivity is generally used, which can reduce the cost of the product and meet the needs of the product itself. For some outdoor high-power LED lamps, such as street lamps, the power is much higher than other indoor lamps, In order to better heat dissipation of lamps and improve the service life of lamps, thermal conductive silica gel sheets with relatively high thermal conductivity are generally used. The inherent viscosity of the heat-conducting silica gel sheet facilitates the construction. If the customer needs the heat-conducting silica gel sheet to have strong viscosity to replace the screw fixation, he can also choose to give one-sided or double-sided adhesive backing to the heat-conducting silica gel sheet. If the heat-conducting silica gel sheet needs to lock the screw, please remember to choose the heat-conducting silica gel sheet containing glass fiber cloth, which has the properties of anti puncture and anti tear. In short, the heat conductive silica gel sheet can be customized according to customer requirements to meet customer needs. It can be die-cut and punched according to the size and shape of heating devices.
