Is Having a Sterling Silver Wedding Ring Lame?

Not at all- do what you like, and what you can afford. It should only matter what makes you happy- not what other people think. The only thing to think about is that silver can dent, scratch, and bend. If you've had a ss ring that you've worn constantly, you know what I mean. Be sure it's thick enough so you don't have to worry about it, and don't be afraid to ask a jewelry expert if they think the piece you are looking at will hold up. You might research the durability of the different metals. After all, you want something that will last the rest of your life. Good luck!

Sterling Silver vs. 10k White Gold?

a 10kt ring is about 40% gold and is a lot more expensive then silver. Most silver rings have a plating on them to keep them from tarnishing which eventually wears off and can't easily be put back on, and if you need to have the ring sized, the plating also wears off. Silver also isn't as strong as gold in holding the stone. It would be better in the long run to go with the gold ring, it's easier to maintain and you can always bring it back to it's original state. However if you're on a budget you can save a lot of money by choosing a silver ring, and you can always get a nicer ring when you can afford to after that one wears out. Happy ring shopping

Fake silver ring not leaving a green/blue mark anymore?

We tell a narrative, our bodies - hands, ft and torso. in specific situations they say something approximately us on my own, in specific situations approximately our relationship to others. I discern i could on no account destroy out with mendacity approximately my marital status. My finger has an eternal mark the place the ring is worn. i don't have issues removing it nevertheless. it could be nicely worth pointing out that adult adult males could have a similar subject with regards to wedding ceremony bands. At one time my spouse had her wedding ceremony band decrease unfastened after falling and breaking her finger. We had to pay to have the ring repaired as quickly as she'd recovered. i'm uncertain whether this relates on your poem in any respect. in simple terms extra random techniques, perhaps they are of pastime

Can anyone answer this 5th grade math question and tell me how they did it? Look below, 10 points best answer!?

Okay, so two diamond rings 4 silver rings $1440

one diamond ring one silver ring $660

diamond ring d

Silver ring s

2d 4s 1440

d s 660

Solution:

use the second equation, "d s 660," to find either d or s

d s 660 > subtract "s" from both sides

d 660 - s

Now plug "d" from the second equation into the first equation

2d 4s 1440 > 2 (660 - s) 4s 1440

Distributive property: (2 * 660) - (2 * s) 4s 1440

1320 - 2s 4s 1440

Subtract 1320 from both sides:

2s 1440 - 1320 120

divide 2 by both sides:

s 120 / 2 $60 per silver ring

Now plug "s" back into the second equation:

d s 660 d 60

subtract 60 from both sides:

d 660 - 60 $600 per diamond ring

There are many ways to solve this question, but I only did one:

The answer: $60 for a silver ring and $600 for a diamond ring

Does lemon juice get tarnish off of a sterling silver ring?

I work at the Jewelry counter at K-mart, we sell lots of sterling silver jewelry, rings, necklaces ect. I'm not saying our stuff is the highest quality stuff but it stands the test of time, we don't handle every piece everyday, they mostly stay in the case unless we are with customers. I Have only NEEDED to polish certain pieces once every 6 months or so. They are the more integrate ones. I love my own SS pieces, and I polish them about 3 times a year, Which is what I recommend to my customers ( I say the same with with the yellow and white gold) I would just go pick up SS polishing cloths if you wear the ring daily I would go with every 3 months and you should be just fine. Just take care of it. And remember the price you paid. And what they mean to you

I bought a sterling silver ring and it's turning black around the edges?

No longer seeking to be impolite but having it stamped ".925" does no longer imply that it's the handiest actual sterling silver. Having it stamped .925 manner that's it Italian Sterling Silver which is made up of ninety two.

5% Silver (therefore the id .

925) and the relaxation is made up of an alloy, most often Copper. Most will use a White Copper at the moment. I make jewellery, and i don't stamp mine .

925 because mine is made from ALL Silver. The one one i've noticeable supply a reputable answer is queennerd79. He is correct. Most times it is going to now not turn your finger green, but from time to time there will probably be a response a good way to give that green tinge to the epidermis and cleaning it with a cloth or silver cleansing resolution will help. No longer announcing that your object was once or used to be now not real silver. I'm simply saying that the answers given here are usually not correct

Does a plain silver band on the left ring finger signify marriage?

wedding bands, modern or traditional, don't need diamonds. This silver-colored ring you're referring to could be white gold or platinum, in which case it may be a wedding band. It could be just a silver ring that happens to fit this woman's ring finger. Ask and find out. If you're not comfortable being direct, make reference to her husband and she will correct you if she doesn't have one. She will very quickly and happily correct you if she is interested.

So glad to hear from someone who cares about the significance of a wedding band, so many people consider married people fair game. My wish for them, when they are married, is that their spouses have this same disregard for marriage. If they are currently married.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out in your comments.

Can 2 solid sterling silver rings be soldered together? If yes, then should I have it done professionally?

Yes, two sterling silver rings should be able to be soldered together. They would need to fit tightly so there would be a good surface touching. You would probably be better off to have a jeweler to do it for you. Silver has a higher melt temperature than a soldering iron can do, it requires a torch. If the rings have stones in them, the stones would have to be removed or carefully shielded. After cleaning thoroughly, you would need to use flux, hard silver solder (75% silver), soak in pickle (acid to remove soldering oxides and excess flux), then re-polish. Probably more tools/suplies than you want to buy and more process than you want to learn to do one solder joint. If you did want to learn to solder and make jewelry, find a local community college/bead shop/lapidary club that has a silversmithing class to sign up for

Is it ok to wash your hands with a silver and simulated diamond ring?

HI! It is okay to wash your hands and even take a shower or wash dishes, etc. But, you need to steer cleer of anything containing bleach! It will turn the silver a dark color and you will have to get it cleaned. Personally, what I do is, when I am done doing "whatever", is using a soft nail brush use part alcohol and water pour it over the ring even right on your finger scrub it gently, rinse in warm water then just dry it with a towel. Mine always gets "filmed" up, with the days work in the house and with lotion. People always say, "take it off", but, I am afraid of losing it! lol & I can't stand rubber gloves! Hope this helps! if my ring is real silver or not?

The small amount of copper in sterling silver is there to add strength because pure silver is too soft for ordinary use. On one recent occasion (and I think I may remember others, years ago), a silver ring of mine broke. (I have no reason to doubt its composition.)

I do not remember any of my silver rings leaving a mark on my fingers, except, possibly, when I haven't properly cleaned it after polishing. I only need to polish silver I haven't worn in a while. The jewellery I wear most of the time doesn't need polishing, and doesn't leave marks.

Gold is almost perfectly non-reactive, and that's why staining from gold rings is rare. However, I have heard of cases where green or blue marks from gold rings is a symptom of diabetes.

Silver turns black when exposed to sulfur. Rub it with a bit of hard-cooked egg yolk. This isn't diagnostic, but it's a good indicator.

Using the 925 stamp is under strict legal control. To use the stamp to mark a small object fraudulently would be a criminally stupid act.

Anyone here heard about the silver ring thing in?

For those who don't know, some Christian girls are into this deal where they pledge themselves to be virgins for daddy and Jesus, and they wear a silver ring to show their commitment to staying virgin until they get married. They have this big celebration and everything. It's very creepy because it hearkens back to the days when girls were the property of their fathers until they got married, at which time they came under the ownership of their husbands. (That's where the practice originated of giving away the bride at her wedding.)

In at least one case, a girl tried wearing her ring to school and got in trouble because the school has a no-jewelry policy. She lost the case. Some said it brought up the issue of what rights do students have when it comes to expressing their religion at school? The answer, of course, is NONE. Students are there to LEARN stuff, not to make a public display of their religious faith. Jesus said to go pray and worship God in your closet, alone, away from the public, and these misguided twits want to do just the opposite.

What is the mass of a gold and silver ring if the density is.... in chemistry?

finding on the chemical makeup of your pores and skin and whether or no longer you have hypersensitive reactions to the steel that the two the gold or silver is blended with... the two metals may well be worn each and all the time. % the steel that looks suited with your pores and skin tone. If Silver looks suited with your pores and skin tone, yet you may no longer positioned on it, % white gold. Edited to function that the silver won't turn black in case you place on it each and all the time. it is going to turn black in case you do no longer positioned on it. My wedding ceremony band is silver as are each and all the rings that I positioned on, which count quantity 7. And none of them are black. i will observe that considered one of them turns my finger black while the acidity in my physique is off, yet it is as a results of the fact there is copper interior the hoop
